Elinor Elizabeth Beach
<p><strong>Elinor Elizabeth Beach, 91, of Grinnell died on Monday, October 19, 2020, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center. A private family graveside was held at Garrett Cemetery in Delta, Iowa. Memorials to Hospice of the Midwest may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. </strong></p> <p><strong>Elinor, the daughter of Arthur and Merna (Quackenbush) Parkhurst, was born on August 17, 1929 in rural Tama County, Iowa. She grew up living between Montezuma and Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1947. On November 17, 1948, Elinor was united in marriage with Donald Beach in Grinnell. They made their home in Poweshiek and Mahaska Counties. Elinor worked for Poweshiek County Health Care Services. She enjoyed fishing and camping in her earlier years and crocheting. Elinor was also a fabulous cook.</strong></p> <p><strong>Elinor is survived by her children, Alan Beach of Magna, Utah, Edward (Linda) Beach of Buckeye, Arizona, and Linda Berndt of Newton; grandchildren, Rob Beach (Tara), Garfield Berndt, Mendi (Shane) Martinez, John Beach, Donelle Berndt, Kevin (Porshe) Beach, and Andrew (Cami) Beach; her great-grandchildren, Jordan (April), Brandi (Dominique), Matthew, Madison, Kalleigh, Legacy, Kingston, A.J., Elanor; and great-great-grandchildren, Braxton, Jackson, and Aubrey. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald in 2011; granddaughter, Courtney Berndt; daughter-in-law, Katie Beach; and sister, Lorna (Richard) Brummel. </strong></p>Obituary
