EDWARD Joseph Adolf LAUER

January 31, 1931 - October 19, 2020

“May your horse never stumble, may your cinch never break, may the wind be at your back, and your heart never ache.”

It is with heavy hearts our family announces the passing of Edward Joseph Adolf Lauer on Monday Oct 19th, 2020 at the age of 89 years.

Ed was born January 31st, 1931 in Raymore, Saskatchewan. He spent the majority of his life in and around the Drayton Valley area where he and his wife Mary raised their family.

Ed was a much loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great, great grandfather, uncle, brother and loyal friend. He treasured his time on the farm and was happiest when he was either horseback riding or taking a group of family or friends out for a hayride. Ed will be remembered for his love of family, friends and farm life.

Besides his loving wife Mary, he leaves to cherish his memory, his children Eileen (Jim) Garman, Lorraine Haggerty (Darrel), Floyd (Vivian) Lauer, Edward (Jr.) (Diane) Lauer, Melvin Lauer, Arlene (Curtis) Krueger, son in law Ron Martens (Tyke) as well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Margaret Lauer, sisters Evangeline White, Lorraine Brown, son Roy Schotts, daughter Edwina (Tyke) Martens, son in law, Jim Haggerty. Ed’s request was to be cremated. Due to covid restrictions, a family funeral and invitation only service will be held on Saturday, October 24th at 1pm at the Life Church in Drayton Valley.

A further celebration of this extraordinary man is being planned for the summer of 2021.
