Obituary
Charles Thomas Trogdon, 83, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at Randolph Memorial Park with Pastor Carol Hunter officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Charles was born on August 5, 1937 in Guilford County, to the late Carl Trogdon and Leta Burgess Trogdon. He was a co-owner of Ideal Electric and had served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a sports fan of NASCAR, Redskins and Panthers Football, and the Atlanta Braves Baseball team. Charles was an avid golfer and was a member of Pinewood Country Club. He and his wife Peggy loved to take golf trips with their friends. He enjoyed fellowship with his golfing friends. Charles was also a member of Flag Springs United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Alma Wood, Ruby Abernathy, Bea Hall, and Betty Craven. Charles is survived by his wife, Peggy Cox Trogdon of the home; daughter, Cindy Trogdon Fields and husband Glenn of Lexington; son, Todd Charles Trogdon and wife Trish of Asheboro; sister, Velma Trogdon-Shoemaker of Ramseur; brother, Bobby Trogdon of Asheboro; grandchildren, Lauren Fields Benatovich and husband Brian of Huntersville, NC, Cari Paige Fields of Tucson, AZ; and canine companion, Windy Lee. Mr. Trogdon's body will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020, at Ridge Funeral Home.
