Otis Rivers

Mr. Otis Lee Rivers was born March 1, 1967 in Union Springs, Alabama to Nathaniel Sr. and Ida Mae Rivers. He went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the age of 53 years. Otis accepted Christ at a young age. In Saginaw, he was a member of Renaissance Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Dr. Nathaniel Calhoun, Sr. Whenever he would visit his home in Union Springs, he attended Haynes Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Eddie C. Jasper. Otis was a fun-loving person, always in good spirits. He loved cooking, traveling and being with family and friends. When Otis walked in the room, you knew he was there because he would yell out “Hey Yall!” His family and friends will truly miss his upbeat personality. Otis was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel Sr. and Ida Mae Rivers; grandparents, Fred and Izora Rivers, Theodore and Hattie Marlow; aunts, Ruther Johnson, Minnie Ivey, Freddie Penn; uncles, Felix (Willie Bell) Marlow, Eddie Marlow, Robert Rivers; Hendria Mae Baker, Alexandria and Alexis Rivers. He leaves precious memories with his children, Jessica and Brandon Bruce; grandchildren, Zoey and James Bruce; sisters, Bertha (Henry) Baker, Union Springs, Alabama, Annie Rivers, Melissa Baker, both of Saginaw, Michigan; brothers, Alvin and Nathan Rivers, Saginaw, Michigan, Nathaniel Jr. and Nelson Rivers, Union Springs, Alabama; nieces, Nee’Shon, Shanna, Noslen, Niyell, Destiny, Camareya; nephews, Desmond, Alexander, Dexter, Henry Jr., Tae’Jon, Santino, Nathan Jr., Jay’den, Dominic; aunts, Minnie Marlow, Lillie, Algertha Pritchett, Dorothy Banks; uncles, Fred (Lula) Rivers, Reverend James (Annie) Gochett, Willie (Diane) Marlow; godbrother, Howard Grant; special aunt, Momma T; many great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends including dear loved ones Leonard Mahoney, Dee Dee, Tasha, Jackie Bruce, Pete Sutton, David Harris and Domino.
