Jimmy Ray Buell

Jim Buell died Monday, October 19, 2020. Memorial service: Due to COVID-19, the memorial service will be family only. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Jim was born October 22, 1935, to Mr. and Mrs. Roy Buell of Lee's Summit, Missouri. Jim was a devoted husband. He met his wife, Joan Tottenham, in Dayton, Ohio, when they were both students; she at Christian College, and he at the University of Missouri. They were married June 20, 1959, at University Christian Church in Fort Worth. After their wedding, Jim served three years in the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio, while Joan finished her college education. They moved back to Fort Worth in 1962. Jim was an aerospace engineer for 43 years at LTV/Lockheed in the missile and fire control division. They loved playing tennis and raising their Sheltie dogs as a source of fun and comfort throughout their married life, and, more recently, a black Cocker Spaniel named Shadow. Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Buell. Survivors: Jim is survived by his sons, Paul and his wife Violet, Brad and his wife Julie; grandchildren, Amanda Buell Watkins and husband Blake, Sarah Buell Vondra and husband Patrick, James Buell and wife Tiffany, and Martha Buell; great-granddaughter, Bethany Kay Vondra; brothers, Jerry Buell and Glen Buell and his wife Pat, and brother-in-law Denny Tottenham and wife Holly.
