Mattie Sue “Two Mama” Baugh age 97, passed away Monday October 19, 2020 at her residence in Morton, MS. A visitation will be held on Thursday October 22, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Polkville from 10:00AM until 10:30 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday October 22, 2020 at 10:30AM at Polkville Baptist Church with graveside service to follow at Polkville Baptist Cemetery. Brother Will McNeese and Brother Zack Kilpatrick will officiate. Mrs. Baugh was a lifelong resident of Polkville, MS. She was Baptist by faith and a member of First Baptist Church of Polkville. She was a graduate of Polkville School and then attended East Central Junior College and The University of Southern Mississippi, where she received her B.S. degree in education. She went on to teach at Polkville School and Morton High School for 39 years. She and her husband spent their retirement years traveling and spending time with their family and being with friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Wilburn Baugh; her parents; Charlie and Marthanne Purvis; three sisters, Gladys Taylor, Mary Ella James, Clytee Gray; six brothers, Bob Purvis, Jim Purvis, Schley Purvis, Gilbert Purvis and Howard Purvis. She is survived by her son, Randy Baugh (Pat) of Polkville, MS; daughter, Sondra Waldrop (Mike) of Oxford, MS; five grandchildren, Dirk Waldrop (Michelle), Jason Waldrop (Christine), Randy Leigh Grant (Richie),Josh Baugh, Luke Baugh (Adrienne); twelve great-grandchildren, Brik, Tyler and Gabe Waldrop, Sarah and Jace Godfrey, Fisher, Elise and Worth Waldrop, Jordan and Jace Grant, Baylor and Mattie Brinn Baugh; and one great-great grandchild, Ellie Waldrop. Pallbearers are, Dirk Waldrop, Jason Waldrop, Luke Baugh, Josh Baugh, Randy Leigh Grant and Richie Grant; honorary pallbearers are the great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their gratitude to Lakreisha Bland for her loving care to Mrs. Baugh. In lieu of flowers memorials to: First Baptist Church of Polkville.
