James Marlin Davis

James Marlin Davis, 81, passed from death to everlasting life with his Savior on Saturday morning, October 17, 2020.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Bethel Assembly of God Church.  Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 21, 2020 also at Bethel Assembly of God Church with Reverend John Van Hoose officiating.  Burial will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Ector County Cemetery, Los Angeles Garden. Pallbearers will be as follows: Darvin Poyner, Glenn Patton, Dennis Athey, Gary Chastain, Jordan Davis and Otis Parsley.

Marlin was born in McKenzie (Evergreen), Alabama on December 28, 1938 to Emmitt Davis and Sally Merritt.

He is preceded in death by his wife Sharon, mother of his children, and his daughter, Tina Patton.

Marlin is survived by his wife Julia Davis, of almost 10 years; his son, Steven and wife, Sherri of Odessa, son, Michael and wife, Sherrie of Lavaca, Arkansas; son-in-law, Glenn Patton and wife, Sherry; stepchildren, Debra Chastain and husband, Gary of Odessa, Dennis Athey and wife, Beverly of Livingston, Texas; one sister, Marie Mitchell of Odessa; eight grandchildren, Jordan Davis and wife, Ashley of Odessa, Amanda Garcia and husband, Isaac of Odessa, Destiny Patton of Odessa, James Davis of Oklahoma, Trinity Davis of Oregon, Crystal Pothoff and husband, Hayden of Odessa, Candace Sims of Arkansas, Kendra Handley Tanner of Arkansas; and nine great grandchildren.
