Robert Lee Corbin

Robert Lee Corbin, beloved son of the late Clinton Dennis and Lina Corbin Parker, was born on February 8, 1941 in Accomack County, Virginia. He passed away on October 18, 2020 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, Maryland. <br><br>Robert was educated in the public schools of Accomack County and was a graduate of Mary N. Smith High School. He was employed by the Accomack County Public Works Department for over twenty-five years as a truck driver. Upon his retirement, he began driving for Barry Marshall Trucking. <br><br>On March 15, 1960, Robert married the love of his life, Alice M. Corbin. They shared sixty wonderful years of marital bliss. <br><br>Robert was a member of St. John Independent Church in Messongo, Virginia. He was a faithful and dedicated member and an ordained Deacon. Members of St. John and family affectionately called him “Deacon.” Robert was also a member of the Messongo Male Choir. He loved to sing, especially his favorite songs, If You Can’t Help Me and If You Hear of my Homegoing, Don’t Worry About Me.” His favorite scripture was Psalm 23. <br><br>Robert was loved by everyone he came into contact with. If he didn’t know you, he was surely going to get to know you. His presence at St. John and in the community will be greatly missed. <br><br>He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Robert L. Corbin, Jr.<br><br>Robert Lee leaves to cherish his fond memories: his wife of sixty years, Alice Corbin; one daughter, Monica Smith; one son, Victor Corbin; four grandchildren, Garrett Corbin, Dominique Dorsey, Myron Corbin, and Asha Corbin; five great-grandchildren, De’Mari Taylor, Jhi’Kese Corbin, Jhi’Nae Corbin, Ashtyn Corbin, and Averie Corbin; one sister, Tameka Mann; one brother-in-law, Vernon Bowen; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
