James Hester Henderson age 95 of Itasca, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Grandview Nursing Home in Grandview, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro. Burial will follow at Itasca Cemetery. A visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2020 prior to the service at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors.

James was born May 19, 1925 in Venus, Texas to George and Ida (Hester) Henderson. He was united in marriage on June 8, 1947 to Eva June Baker. James was a very hard-working farmer all his life. He served his country in the United States Navy. James was very handy and creative and could fix most anything, he was also an excellent cook. James was also a very avid baseball fan. He was a member of both The First Baptist church and the Lions Club in Itasca.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

James is survived by his wife of 73 years, June Henderson of Itasca; brothers, Ernest Henderson and wife, Jeanette of Itasca and Bobby Joe Henderson of Piggett, Arkansas; sister, Laverne Fletcher of Ft. Worth; and several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
