Ernell Dewyne Solomon

Ernell Dewyne Solomon, affectionately known as Ernie D or D, entered into rest on October 12, 2020. His sunrise was on May 29, 1964, in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Walter and Helen Burney Solomon as the youngest of their six children. He received his formal education in the Duval County Public School system. He was a proud graduate from Jean Ribualt High School, Trojan Class of 1982. Ernell worked at United Parcel Service for 31 years. He was an esteemed member of the Teamsters Union during his years of service. Although, Ernell was not bestowed the honor of bearing his own children, he was a Father/Dad/Friend to many children in his family and community. Ernell will genuinely be remembered for his devotion and loyalty to family and friends. In his leisure time he enjoyed music, sports, family activities, traveling and helping others no matter what the need. Ernell was a living testimony of God’s love. His deeds epitomized the scriptures “It's better to give than to receive”. Acts 20:35; Its better to be a Lender than a Borrower as professed in Deuteronomy 28:12...Truly, to know Ernell was to love him. Preceded in death was his brother: Sylvester Solomon He leaves the legacy of love and gems of wisdom to those who will always cherish his memories: sisters Carolyn Johnson, Cynthia Glover(Larry) and Altamese Alexander; Brothers: Walter Solomon(Diane) and Kenneth Solomon(Sandra);Nephews: Duane, Kenan, Walter, Michael, Keith, Marcus, Kenneth and Alex; Nieces: Lisa, Little Lisa, Tonya, Nikita ,Stephanie, Erika, Kendra, Kimberly, Keri and Arielle and; A host of grand-nephews, grand-nieces, cousins and friends. Kathy Bellamy, his cherished special friend and God-children Falon Bellamy and Briana Bellamy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Patterson Cremation & Funeral Service. Family will be accepting visitors for a final glimpse Friday October 23,2020 from 4:00 PM to 7;00 PM Service will be at Mt Ararat Baptist Church Saturday October 24,2020 at 11:AM
