Charles Rodney Rudd Danville, Virginia Obituary

Charles Rodney Rudd

On Sunday, October 18, 2020, Charles gained his angel wings and went to his Heavenly home following a hard-fought battle with leukemia. Charles Rodney Rudd was born on February 18, 1948, in High Point, NC, to the late Earmon and Ramona Rudd. Although growing up in North Carolina, Charles lived most of his life in Danville, VA, and worked in the textile industry for over 30 years prior to his retirement. He was a faithful member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church and felt so blessed to be able to serve on several committees while there. Charles loved the Lord, his life, his family, his friends, and his fur babies dearly. Charles is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 27 years, Sandra. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Randy Reed and his wife Robin, and Kenny Reed and his wife Christie, along with his four grandchildren Hannah Reed, Caleb Reed, Grayson Reed, and Elijah Reed. He also leaves behind his sister Susan Kennedy, a niece Cheryll Varner, and a nephew Michael Kennedy, as well as two great nephews Doyle Varner and Owen Varner. In addition to his parents, Charles was predeceased by his brother in law Mike Kennedy. A celebration of life graveside service will be held on October 21, 2020, at 2:00PM at Danville Memorial Gardens with Jonathan Hilliard officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to the Danville-Pittsylvania County Cancer Society or a cause that you are passionate about.
