Christopher Melvin Heath, 72, a lifetime resident of Lapeer, died Sunday, October 18, 2020. Christopher was born May 9, 1948 in Lapeer to Melvin “Mel” and Leota (Running) Heath. He graduated from Lapeer High School, class of 1966. Chris went on to earn his apprenticeship through General Motors. Chris worked 30 years at Pontiac Motors, retiring on April 1, 2000. Chris loved golfing and was a huge NASCAR fan – in fact he travelled several times to enjoy the Daytona 500. Chris is survived by his daughter, Amy (Patrick) Freeney of Flint; three grandsons: Devon (fiance, Alyssa) Simpson, Christian Freeney and Aiden Freeney; life-long friend, Sandy Heath of Flint; sister & brother-in-law: Brent & Nancy Deverell of Lapeer; and his very special nieces and nephews: Jeff, Wanda, LB and Amanda. He was preceded in death by his aforementioned parents; sister and brother-in-law: Barb and Loren Burton and his niece, Debbie Poor-Donaldson. In keeping with Chris’ wishes, cremation services have been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer.
