On Thursday morning October 15, 2020, Rosie Lee Fields transitioned from this life to meet her husband in Paradise. Rosie was the 5th child born to Raphael and Sephronia Sparks Brooks on December 10, 1933 in Wharton County, Texas.The family relocated to Richmond, Texas where she attended Jane Long Elementary School and A.W. Jackson Jr. High School where she was active in sports and a majorette in the band. She married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Haston Fields, Jr. In 1952, they relocated to San Angelo, Texas where they spent forty-four years together until his death in 1996. They were blessed with seven children. Rosie was a stay-at-home mom until 1970 when she began working at Shannon Memorial Hospital as the housekeeping supervisor. She worked for San Angelo Independent School Administration Building in the custodial department, and for the City of San Angelo Nutrition Program. Rosie excepted Christ early in life and was baptized at the age of 13 by Rev. J. T. Tolbert at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Richmond, Texas. Later uniting with St. Paul Baptist Church in San Angelo, Texas where she sang in the church choir. During her life, she was active with her children and grandchildren. She became a member of the Busy Bee Sewing Club and met many friends along the way. Rosie remained friends with all her club sisters until their passing. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and three brothers; Clarence Lloyd Brooks, Willie James Brooks, and Essie Brooks, two sisters; Lillie Mae Thomas and Irma Jean Autrey, son; Rondrick Fields, grandson; Xavier Love Fields and her adopted son, Carlos Trevino. Rosie is survived by her brother R. L. Brooks (Cornee) of Orlando, Florida, four daughters; LaRue Reed (Charles) of San Angelo, Texas, Janet Brown of San Angelo, Texas, Sylvia Fields of San Angelo, Texas and Juanita Armstead of Houston, Texas, two sons; Alfred Fields of San Angelo, Texas and Bruce Fields (Steena) of Abilene, Texas. Rosie is also survived by grandchildren Detrina Solomon, Shawna Walker (Mark), Cealan Reed, Rondrick “Reggie” Fields (Danyel), Pierre Love Fields, Natasha Fields, Cedric Fields, Eric Powell, Madison Fields, Chace Fields, Terence Fields, Haston J. Fields, Charlene Randolph, Morgan Fields, Taylor Fields, Kelsey Christian, Emily Fields, Shayna Carson, Larry Carson, Heather Armstead and Marcus Armstead. Rosie is also well loved by thirty-one great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Rosie will be available for viewing from 12:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday October 19, 2020 at Harper Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Sankirk Bailey. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
