Jeffrey Jones Getchell
Jeffrey Jones Getchell, 74, and beloved husband of Denise for 53 years, passe away on Thursday, October 15, 2020. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 26, 1945 to the late Robert and Jane Getchell. He served proudly in the United States Army before obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University. He worked for General Motors for 23 years as an automotive engineer. Jeffrey married the love of his life, Denise Disbennett, in August of 1967 in Galena, Ohio. He was a loving father of two, and grandfather of four. Jeffrey loved sailboat racing, playing bridge, bowling, swimming, and was an ASME member, a member of the MIATA Club, and the Sports Car Club of America SCCA. He will be greatly missed by not only his family but many friends and colleagues as well. Jeffrey is survived by his devoted wife, Denise. Loving father of Gregory G. Getchell (Madeley) and Kristin J. Getchel Evey (Curtis). Proud grandfather of Sebastian and Sofia Getchell and Elliott and Cooper Evey. Dear brother of Robert C. Getchell, Jr., and the late David C. Getchell and Sally Getchell Gordon. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Northbrook Presbyterian Church in Beverly Hills, Michigan.
