Robert Westley Kipp Sr., better known as Bob by all who loved him, made the journey home to God on October 12th, 2020. Born on March 23, 1950 to the late John and Mary Kipp, Bob lived his entire life to help and provide for others.

Bob was drafted into the United States Army at the ripe age of 19 and proudly served our country in the Vietnam War as a Door Gunner from 1970 to 1971. Upon returning home, he promptly married the love of his life and wife of 48 years, Donna. Bob and Donna first met when they were just 16 and 15 years old, respectively, in a high school biology class. Over the years of marriage, they raised four children, loved countless pets, and finally retired to the state they both loved, Maine. Since retirement, Bob’s days were often spent building things, taking drives out to the coast in York, or simply sitting on the porch with his wife. Bob and Donna’s love was and still is something out of a storybook, and is something that anyone who saw them together admired and hoped to emulate.

Known for his love of Corvettes, Coors Light, and snacks, Bob could more recently be found in his garage holding “Garage Meetings” with his neighbors. It was in these Meetings that Bob solved all issues presented to him, from getting a stubborn vehicle to run smoothly to how to build a world-class chicken coop. His knowledge of cars and carpentry were only surpassed by his understanding of love and friendship. 

Bob lives on through his wife, Donna; his four children, Nancy Kipp, Robert (Kimberly) Kipp, Diane (Michael) Kirtoglou, and Stephanie (Owen) Paris; his grandchildren, Mia and Michael Kirtoglou, and Beau Paris; as well as his sister, Patty (Barry) Thomas, and sister-in-law Judy (Frank) Krasuski. In addition to his family, his legacy will also be carried on by his neighbor-family, Kenny and Tamey Turnbull, Chuck Burris and Denise Woodman, Marty and Kelley Kidder, and Pat Hall. Prior to his trip Home, Bob assured Donna that he would never leave her. Since Bob always stayed true to his word, all should take comfort in the fact that he will never be far away from any of his loved ones. 

A military service will be held on November 6th at 11 am at the Gerald B.H. Soloman Saratoga National Cemetery. If anyone would care to make a donation in Bob’s name, they may be made to any Veterans organization or the ASPCA, two causes that Bob felt strongly about and supported. Beyond that, Bob’s friends and family ask that at some point, you raise a Coors Light in Bob’s honor and toast a man who changed this world for the better.
