John Rogers Sutton, 67, loving father, son, husband, brother, and grandfather was born February 21, 1953 in Cortland, New York and died on October 14, 2020, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was a graduate (1975) of the United States Air Force Academy and served in the United States Air Force. He continued his career as an engineer for the Department of Defense and retired in 2020 from Cosmic Advanced Engineered Solutions. Being a diligent worker and skilled craftsman, John completed countless beautiful home projects, and in life and art, he never shied away from a challenge. His attention to detail and love for beauty helped him develop excellent skills in photography too. He was a quiet intelligent gentleman with a quick smile and kind heart. John faced his battle with cancer with grace and immeasurable determination and was surrounded in love by his family through it all. John was preceded in death by his father, William Rogers and mother, Florence Anne (Kinnetz) Sutton of Seneca Falls, New York. John is survived by his wife, Leigh (Rankin) Sutton of Colorado Springs; daughter, Jill Elizabeth (James) Hudson of Colorado Springs; son, John Kent Sutton of Denver, Colorado; three grandchildren, Wyatt Hudson, Harper Hudson, Karys Hudson; and two sisters, Alice Sutton of Plattsburgh, New York and Mary Sutton of Houston, Texas.
