Richard A. “Buddy” Poole, 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 15, 2020. Buddy was born on October 2, 1939, in Pontotoc County, MS, to the late Richard Thomas and Eva Essie Poole. He was an avid storyteller and had a unique ability to assign each grandchild their own nickname. He enjoyed bird watching and Nascar. Buddy never met a stranger, and he will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. He loved his family and friends dearly, but his wife, Billie, was his whole world. Left to cherish his memory is his high school sweetheart and wife of 63 years, Billy Faye Grant Poole; children, Cindy and the late Lou St. Cyr, Melinda (Stan) Watson, Melissa (Eddy) Escher, and Pete Poole; grandchildren, Jason Smith, Mandy Parham, Jamie Smith, Allison Smith, Ashley Rudd, Megan Lee, Ernie Escher, Katie Escher, Ethan Poole, Christian Poole, and Maggie Poole; numerous great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Homan and Glenda (Bob) Dacus; beloved aunt, Charlie “Cha Che” Francis; along many other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that tributes be made in Buddy’s loving memory to the American Cancer Society by visiting www.cancer.org or the Alzheimer’s Association by visiting www.act.alz.org . The family will have a Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Buddy at Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula, MS, at a later date.
