A.L. Smith Obituary

Funeral service for A.L. “Big Red” Smith, 88, of Cleburne will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 19, 2020 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Entombment will follow in the Greenacres Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Sunday, October 18, 2020 at the funeral home. A.L. “Big Red” Smith passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 in Cleburne. He was born January 1, 1932 in Keene to O.C. and Odell Atrice (Bradford) Smith. He married Anita Hiner on March 7, 1952 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. A.L. was a lifelong resident of Joshua. He was loved and respected by many. A.L. was a retired owner and operator of his trucking company. A.L. is survived by his wife, Anita Smith; daughters, Nancy Bullard, Jo Prenger, Suzanne Wigand; son-in-law, Brian Brauer; grandchildren, Jared Knutson, Brent Bullard and wife Tracy, Molly Needham and husband Jim, Michelle Morton, Jack Smith, Sarah Pronger and husband Patrick, Larrs Brauer; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister Kathryn Bonham and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends. A.L. is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Janet Brauer, sister Dell Herndon and brother Robert Smith.
