Matthew Linville Slater

Mr. Matthew Linville Slater, 22, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017 at his residence. He leaves behind a wife, Christina Barnes Slater; a son, Chase Linville Slater; parents, Harvey Linville Slater, Jr. and wife Laura of Wallburg and a sister, Jessica Megan Slater of Winston-Salem; grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles. Matthew proudly served in the United States Army. He brought Joy to our lives and had a contagious smile. Matthew had a heart of gold. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Canaan United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Miller officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
