Vera Gamble

<p>Vera Gamble began this journey of life February 1, 1928 in Waco, Texas to the parentage of the late Albert King Sr. and Mamie King. She was the 4th&nbsp;of 5 children.&nbsp;</p> <p>She received her formal education at A.J. Moore High School and graduated in 1946.</p> <p>As a youth she made a confession of faith and became a member at First Baptish Church under Pastor T.M. Garland and later under Pastor L.F. Hardee and now under Pastor Dr. George Harrison. Mother Gamble was an active member of the Usher Board for many years. She served as Co-Chair Person in Culinary Services. She was also Den Mother of Cub Scouts Pack 303 for ten years. Mother Gamble received the First Baptist NBC Academy Award of Faith &quot;Perserverance Award&quot; February 16, 2019. Mother Gable was faithful member of First Baptish Church and was known &quot;As the Peppermint Lady&quot;. Providing peppermints to everyone.</p> <p>She retired from Lake Air Junior High School August 31, 1995 after 37 years.&nbsp;</p> <p>She married Aaron Gamble June 4, 1971. No children were born to this union.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her parents Mamie Gamble and Albert King Sr., son Ronald King, sister Thelma King, brothers Lloyd King, William King and Albert King Jr.&nbsp;</p> <p>She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter Carolyn Hunt of Gurnee, IL, 2 sons Darrell (Gloria) King of Desoto, TX and David (Shirley) Davis of Brenham, TX; grandsons Roderick (Doreen) Hunt of Las Vegas, NV, Michael Hunt of Nampa, ID, Derrick King of Platte, MO, Kefa Reed of Arlington, TX, Kory Davis, Justin Davis of Waco, TX, Ja&#39;Quaveon Davis of Brenham, TX grand-daughters Dionne King of Oahu Hawaii, Sherika Taylor of Wylie, TX, Rataisha Davis of Houston and Keisha Townsend of Orlando, FL, Sharica Davis of Waco, TX, Davina Davis and Deserae Davis of Austin, TX, Carldreunna Davis and Janaejiah Davis of Brenham, TX. A host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Obituary

Vera Gamble began this journey of life February 1, 1928 in Waco, Texas to the parentage of the late Albert King Sr. and Mamie King. She was the 4th of 5 children. 

She received her formal education at A.J. Moore High School and graduated in 1946.
