Joseph Mazurek

     Joseph Mazurek, 94, of St. Johns, MI, passed away surrounded by his family Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Johns, MI, on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 11:00 A.M., with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams officiating.  Burial will take place Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Bosworth Cemetery, Olivet, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 5-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes – Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI.

     Joe was born in Holt, MI on April 4, 1926. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII.  On June 27, 1970, Joe married Joy E. Daman. She preceded him in death on March 14, 2017 after nearly 47 years of marriage.

     Joe loved the outdoors; fishing, hunting and camping were favorite activities. He was a skilled mechanic and enjoyed working on any type of machinery. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others.

     Joe is survived by daughter Shirley (Bill) Bailey of Las Vegas, NV, son Bill (Debbie) Daman of St. Johns, 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, a very special sister-in-law June France and many nieces and nephews.
