Graveside services for Elizardo Aranda, 74, of Lovington, NM will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 10:00 am at Lovington Cemetery with Father Samuel Ameh officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Mr. Aranda was born on July 27, 1946 in Rancho Matachines, Chihuahua, Mexico to Claudio and Domitila (Rios) Aranda and passed away at his home on October 13, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He came to Lovington in 1968 and on May 18, 1970, he married Lilia Ramos and they made their home here. He worked in the local oilfields servicing wells. Elizardo enjoyed horseracing, barbecuing and listening to Norteno music, especially corridos. He enjoyed meeting friends at McDonalds and Pearls for coffee and visiting with them. His favorite pastime was being with his family and especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters: Andrea Aranda and Eduvina Lujan and two brothers: Noel and Auden Aranda. Surviving him is his wife Lilia of the home; one son: Elizardo Aranda Jr of Lovington; two daughters: Silvia Aranda of Lovington and Liz and husband John Saiz of Artesia, NM; three brothers: Octavio and wife Maria Aranda of Lovington, Leopoldo and wife Julieta Aranda of Lovington and Juan De Dios Aranda and wife Amelia of Ojinaga, Mexico; three sisters: Lorena and husband Chumel Gonzalez of Lovington, Vella and husband Cuco Galindo of Odessa, TX and Delfica Aranda of Midland, TX; also twelve grandchildren and three Great-grandchildren.
