Donald H. Hofkamp

<p>Donald H. Hofkamp went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at the age of 81. He was born in Edgerton, Minnesota, the son of Garry and Helen (Grifhorst) Hofkamp. Don proudly served in the US Air Force. After returning from the service he worked at a local CO-OP and for Pete Kooiman, a farmer in the Edgerton area. In 1967 Don made his way to Lansing Michigan to work for General Motors. He retired in 1997 with 30 years of service. Don enjoyed playing and listening to gospel and country &lsquo;Blue Grass&rsquo; music, traveling, and riding motorcycles.&nbsp; Don was a talented woodworker making furniture for family and friends.&nbsp; On August 20, 1976 he married Helen Sali, who survives him. Also surviving are three sons, Brian (Nicki) Hofkamp, Mathew Hofkamp, Robert (Kip) Good; two daughters Carol (Ron) Gast and Sallie (Gary) Heroux; and nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Marcella Feuerhelm and a brother, Vernon &ldquo;Bud&rdquo; Hofkamp. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Elaine Hofkamp. A graveside funeral service will be held for Don at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 17, 2020 at South Bingham Cemetery near St. Johns with Pastor Sue Alvera officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, October 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns. The family will be forever grateful to the nurses and caregivers at Sparrow Home Hospice for their dedication and love they showed Don in his last days here on Earth. Memorials may be made to Sparrow Home Hospice, P.O. Box 30480 Lansing, MI 48909.</p>
