Ruth Adams Carter

Ruth Adams Carter, 88, of 249 Katie Hill Road, Dry Fork, Va., passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at her son’s residence. She was born April 1, 1929, in Wilkes County N.C., daughter of the late Flossie Pendergrass Adams and the late Spencer Adams. She was married to Howard Lee Carter who predeceased her. Mrs. Carter prior to her retirement worked for Dan River, Inc. in the weave room. She is survived by one son, Larry Carter and wife Billie, of Dry Fork, Va.; one sister, Hazel Havard of Texas; and a brother, Jerry Adams, of N.C. Mrs. Carter is also survived by four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she is predeceased by four sisters and four brothers. Graveside services will be conducted Friday, May 26, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at The Willis Family Cemetery, with Rev. Jeffrey Wright officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the son’s residence, 229 Katie Hill Road, Dry Fork, Va. Norris Funeral Services, Inc. & Crematory, Mt.
