<p>Gayle D. Agler, 71, of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born in Adams County, IN, on August 23, 1949, the son of Donald Leroy and Norma Elizabeth (Ridenour) Agler. On April 7, 2007, he married Ruthie Johnson.</p> <p>He was self-employed as an upholsterer. Gayle also served his country in the US Army.</p> <p>Gayle is survived by his wife of 13 years, Ruthie Agler of Decatur; a daughter, Angela (Josh) Comment of Decatur; 2 step-daughters, Jennifer (Jim) McClurg of Fort Wayne, IN, Misty Buettner of Henderson, NV; 5 grandchildren, Will Brown, Cevan Miller, Gavin, Xander and Zoey Comment; 2 step-grandsons, Joseph & Jamison McClurg; a step-granddaughter, Samantha Girod.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Janet Marbaugh, Donna Wietfeldt, Brenda Grant; a brother, Donald Agler.</p> <p>A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.</p> <p>Memorials may be made to the family.</p> <p> </p> <p>**A celebration of life will be held for Gayle D. Agler, 71, Decatur, from 1-6 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Preble Fireman’s Hall, with a flag ceremony at 3 p.m. by the American Legion Color Guard. There will be food and live bluegrass music, and those who wish to bring an instrument to play are encouraged to do so. The wearing of face masks is encouraged. </p> <p> </p>Obituary
