Marvin Joseph Vandenbranden, Jr. San Antonio, Texas Obituary

Marvin Joseph Vandenbranden, Jr.

Marvin "Skipper" Joseph Vandenbranden, Jr. passed from this life on October 11,2020. He is preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Catherine Vandenbranden, Sr. He is survived by his son: Marvin "Sonny" Vandenbranden III, daughter: Theresa "Teri" Vandenbranden, fianc-e: Ryan Gonzales, brother: Aric Vandenbranden, sisters: Monica Abner and Kellie Melcher, numerous nephews and nieces, as well as, Teather, the mother of his children. He will be greatly missed but, not forgotten. Skipper was born in Racine, Wisconsin in 1967. When he was about 7 years old, his family moved to West Point, Mississippi which is where he lived most of his life until he moved to San Antonio, Texas. Skipper had varied careers, starting as a DJ in his 20’s including a mobile DJ business to cater events. He later worked with Paragon/Time Warner as a Service and Maintenance Technician for just over 17 years and, for 5 years after that, with Quest Utilities. He met and made many friends through his work connections. Skipper served as an Usher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, motorcycles, mud riding, and tinkering with jeeps and Volkswagen bugs. His favorite holiday was Halloween and loved dressing up and creating haunted yards for the neighborhood children. He always made an impression wherever he went and had a personality that was greater than the room he was in. Skipper believed in living life to the fullest and his greatest love was his family, especially his children. Flowers are welcome at either the viewing or the funeral mass (details for which are to come). In the alternative, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Skipper’s name would be appreciated.
