Robert Lanigan Enfield, Connecticut Obituary

Robert Lanigan

Robert “Bob” Lanigan passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020 surrounded by his beloved wife of 57 years, Betty, and children, Jimmy, Janet and Karen. Grandpa Bob is cherished by his grandchildren Alyssa, Jennifer, Kayla, Andrew, and Ben, and his great-grandchildren. He was the son of late Chester and Doris Lanigan, and a sibling to multiple brothers and sisters. Bob is lovingly remembered by family members and friends and was preceded by Barefoot Bob, his closest companion. Bob was a longtime Pepsi Cola district manager and also worked part-time with a local food broker upon retirement in Enfield. He enjoyed his retirement by spending the winters in sunny Florida with Betty, their energetic orange cat, Tiger, and his trusty bottle of Windex. Throughout his life, Bob enjoyed watching all sports, and was the number one fan to his granddaughter’s high school and college lacrosse teams. Bob quietly appreciated spending time with family and friends at the campsite, fishing on the beach, and relaxing on Outer Banks porches with a cold Coors. Although a man of few words, he expressed his love through the sharing of a dark chocolate bar, trips to get ice cream cones, and quick-witted jokes. Bob’s stories and favorite things will always be remembered as his family and friends celebrate his life.
