Services for Oscar Clifton Parrish, Jr, 83, of Chico, Texas will be at 10:00 am Friday, October 16, 2020 at Hudson & Torres Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport, officiated by Brother Al Taylor. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery #3. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 15, also at the funeral home. Oscar passed away Monday, October 12. Oscar was born to Oscar Clifton Parrish, Sr. and Ollie Mae Akins Viles on September 3, 1937 in Dallas, Texas. He retired from the Marines after 33 years of service. He was a trucker and traveled with his wife of 50 years, for several years. They loved traveling. After raising five children, they finally found freedom and enjoyed time together. He liked to fish, loved to sing gospel music, loved the Dallas Cowboys, and had a fantastic sense of humor. He loved his family; they were all especially important to him. Oscar is survived by daughters, Janet Sturch of Bridgeport, Marianne Scheller and husband Michael of Bridgeport, Vicki Baxter and husband Danny of Dallas; son, Andy Parrish and wife Deanna of McKinney; sister, Wanda Sue Duncan of Landrum, SC; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
