Marcelina S Arredondo

Marcelina (Marcy) Segovia Arredondo, 93 passed away on October 9, 2020. A visitation will be at 6-8 pm, Tuesday, October 13, 2020, in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A funeral mass will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Albert Ezeanya officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Arredondo was born June 2, 1927, in Sweetwater, Texas to Donaciano and Delores Segovia. She married Andres Arredondo on April 1, 1966. Marcelina and Andres lived in Abilene most of their married life, where they had three children together. Marcy did housecleaning up until retirement. She and Andres loved to go dancing for enjoyment. She was known as "The Dancing Queen.”

She was preceded in death by her husband Andres Arredondo Sr.; sons, Richard, and Lupe Gaona; sisters, Chana, and Mary; brother, Jesse; and her parents.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert Gaona, Grace L. Burks and husband John, Andy Arredondo Jr. and wife Monica, Mary Lomas and husband Eloy; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and daughters-in-law, Cathy and Anita.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Joseph Gaona, Andy Mendoza Arredondo, Michael Arredondo, Alec Arredondo, Eloy Lomas Jr., Eric Lomas, and Jayden Broyles.
