Mrs. Nancy Diane Ford Obituary

Nancy Diane Hunter Ford, born October 21, 1956 of the late Edgar and Rosa Hunter, lost her battle of life during a short illness October 11, 2020 at Mary Immaculate Hospital, 10 days short of her 64th birthday.  She was raised lifelong in North Newport News where she attended both elementary and High School at George Washington Carver. She raised 2 sons from a previous marriage while she worked several jobs, McDonalds, the hotel business and later for over 15 years Alcoa/ Howmet until she became disabled. During that time she met up with her childhood neighbor and friend Roderick Ford of many years, and later the two became soulmates all the way to the altar and remained until her passing. Nancy loved family, neighbors, the elderly and helped everybody. Nancy was a very sharp dresser from head to toe, loved to cook, dance and sing. Di we will surely miss you girl.                                                                                                                                                                                                                 

She is preceded in death by her Father and Mother, her sister Annie Boynton and brothers Edgar Hunter Jr. and Joe Hunter.

 

She is survived by her husband Roderick Ford of Newport News, sons Rashard Boyd (Dante) and Tristan Boyd (wife Ebony) both of Hampton. Tavares Gooch of Newport News. Brother James Hunter (wife Christine) Prince of George County, Sisters Louise Walker and Mary Bates of Newport News, Lily Evans (Twan) of Hampton, and Christine Woodley of Spotsylvania, Virginia.  Grand and Great grands: Saniya Boyd, Tristen Boyd Jr., Rashard Boyd, Niemah Boyd, Rafe Grant, Malazja Brantley, Jamir Walker, Dana Williams, Tia Gooch, Tiana Gooch, Giavanni Anderson, Prince James, Jasir Gooch, Syan Gooch, Syari Mitchell, and Syani Gooch and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

Viewing for Mrs. Ford will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 18, 2020 at C.C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.

 

Services for Mrs. Ford are scheduled for noon Monday, October 19, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church by Dr. Christopher C. Carter, Sr.

 

Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

 

Mask are required for entry into the funeral home and the church. Social Distancing practices will be followed.
