Harry Robert van der Hagen

Harry Robert van der Hagen, 87, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2020 at the Villa in Lewistown, MT.    Harry was born in Lewistown on August 18, 1933 in St. Joseph’s Hospital to Richard A. and Ethel Clare (Welsh) van der Hagen.    Harry was never married.  He served two years, active duty, in the U.S. Army before receiving an honorable discharge.  Harry worked numerous jobs including owning and operating a sawmill.  Harry enjoyed life outdoors; especially hunting and sightseeing.  He loved to pray the Rosary and was a life-long member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church.  Preceding Harry in death were his parents; brothers, Richard “Dick” van der Hagen, Kenneth van der Hagen, and Maurice van der Hagen; sisters, Hellen Miller and Jean Maxwell.  He is survived by his brother, Donald (Judy) van der Hagen; brother-in-law, Floyd Maxwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Leo’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, 11:00 a.m.  The Rosary will be prayed at 10:30, prior to the Mass.  Rite of Committal will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery with military honors.  Memorials in Harry’s honor can be made to St. Leo’s Catholic Church.  Arrangements are under the care of Creel Funeral Home.  Harry’s family and friends can share memories and condolences at <a href="http://www.creelfuneralhome.com">www.creelfuneralhome.com</a>
