MANNING – Lawrence James Kovacik, 73, husband of Donna Lee Tucker Hinkel Kovacik, died Thursday, October 8, 2020, at his home. Born March 8, 1947, in Ellington, Connecticut, he was a son of the late Joseph Kovacik and the late Barbara Cushman Kovacik. He was a US Army veteran, a member of the Corvette Club, and a former teacher at F.E. DuBose Vocational Center. Larry and his wife lived his dream by sailing the Carribean, South America and Central America. They also traveled forty-nine states. He enjoyed modeling miniature ships and World War II airplanes. He was an avid reader and he had a thirst for knowledge. He is survived by his wife of Manning; three stepchildren, Tony Hinkel (Lori) of Willington, CT, Timothy Hinkel (Michael) of Lynchburg and Kristen Millix (Chris) of Manning; five grandchildren, Nicholas Hinkel, Kyle Rosebush and Libby, Adam & Chelsea Millix; a brother, Steve Kovacik (Pat) of Woodstock, CT; a sister, Linda Taber of Vernon, CT; and several nieces and a nephew.
