Tracey Lynn Diment - Bernard Obituary

DIMENT - BERNARD, Tracey, age 62, devoted wife, mother, aunt, and sister, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in Flint, Michigan surrounded by her loving family. Tracey was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on April 17, 1958, the daughter of Robert and Constance Diment. She grew up in the Westgate Neighborhood of Flint and attended Flint Southwestern (class of 1976), where she was a gymnast and cheerleader. For many years, Tracey worked at Comcast, where she made life-long friends. And in order to spend more time with her children, Tracey took a job as the office administrator at Congregation Beth Israel and Temple Beth El in Flint. In her position at the synagogue, Tracey nurtured the wellbeing of many young children and adolescents, and she was the “bright light” in the office. Tracey loved, above all else, to spend time with her family, especially her children and her nieces and nephews. When she wasn’t at family gatherings, she was traveling all over the country to watch her son play baseball. No game was too far and no weather was too volatile – she always showed up for those she loved. She was a supportive and positive influence on those around her, even when times got tough. And she was an ambassador for peace and unity, not division. Tracey was baptized and had a life-long connection to Court Street United Methodist Church in Flint, but also made the choice to raise her children in the Jewish faith. Her connection to both faith communities demonstrates her ability and willingness to foster deep connections and meaningful relationships, both to her community and to God. Tracey was a kind and gentle soul, and she will be sorely missed. Tracey is survived by Seth, her husband of 28 years, her loving children Megan and Michael, and her siblings, Pam (Chris) Diment-Flores, Matthew Diment, and Robert (Kim) Diment. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, Austin, Ali, Morley, Jourdan, Chrysta, Delaney, Robby, Adam, Chelsea, Benjamin, and her great-nieces and nephews who knew her as a confidant and fun-loving aunt. She treated all children in her life as if they were her own, which made her a special person to many that knew her. A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing, MI (2600 E Mt. Hope Avenue, Lansing, MI 48910) on Monday, October 12, 2020 at 2 PM EST. Please wear a mask. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Family Promise of Genesee County. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
