James Hitch Obituary

James Hitch, age 68, of Hwy 173,Morehead, Kentucky departed this life Monday, October 5th,2020 at his home after an extended illness. He was born in West Liberty, Kentucky on May 14, 1952 to Chester and Goldie Trent Hitch. He accepted the Lord Jesus as his savior and worked as a logger.

Surviving are his wife Judy Gollihue Hitch of Hwy 173,Morehead,KY. Three daughters: Melissa Craig, Lynn Sexton (Anthony Becraft), Jamie Stephens (Shannon) all of Sandy Hook, KY. Five grandchildren. Three sisters: Shirley Jones of Morehead,KY, Evalena Horton of Sandy Hook, KY, Karen Gay Dalton of Morehead, KY. Five brothers: Mike Hitch, Tony Hitch, Darrell Hitch, David Hitch, Chester Hitch Jr., all of Sandy Hook, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester & Goldie Trent Hitch, two sisters Joyce Pennington, Vivian Adkins, brother Bill Hitch, two sons-in-law, Michael Craig and Brian Craig.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Thursday, October 8,2020 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Rev. Karl Elam officiating. Interment in the Hitch Cemetery, Hwy 173, Morehead, KY. Visitation 6:30pm, Wednesday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home,West Liberty, KY. Pallbearers are friends and relatives.

COVID-19 regulations will be followed as set forth by Governor Beshear and the CDC. The family request that visitors respect their desire to keep everyone safe by practicing social distancing guidelines and to wear a face covering of some sort.
