Barbara E. Waldron Obituary

Barbara E. Waldron, age 74, died peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at her home in East Amwell Township NJ. She lived in Hunterdon County her entire life. Born October 7, 1945 in Somerville NJ, Barbara was the daughter of the late Edward and Mildred (Queen) Emery. She married the love of her life, the late Douglas Stanley Waldron Sr. in 1964, after being neighbors as young children. The two put roots down in East Amwell and raised their family in Hunterdon County. One of their favorite pastimes was spending time camping with friends and family. Barbara retired after thirty years as a school bus driver. Barbara’s faith in the Lord defined her life and influenced everyone around her. She was a lifetime member of the Amwell Church of the Brethren in Delaware Township. Barbara was a servant at heart. She always put others before herself. Her passion was giving, helping others, and serving her church and community. She volunteered her time and talents wherever possible, most notably, Thanksgiving in the Country, endless church gatherings, Busy Bees and Vacation Bible School. Barbara embodied warmth and love and made her home a special haven for all. Her hospitality and traditions were at the center of every family gathering. Her greatest treasure was her family and she loved devoting her time to her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Stanley Waldron Sr. earlier this year, and her son Brian Waldron. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in- law, Edward Stanley and April Ann (Greene) Waldron of Stockton NJ, and Douglas Stanley and Beth Ellen (Gleeson) Waldron of Flemington NJ, her five grandchildren, Clayton Warren Stanley Waldron, Parker Edward Stanley Waldron, Sydni Nyla Waldron, Camille Starr Waldron and Jonas Tyler Waldron, as well as her three brothers, Walter Emery of Ringoes, Bob Emery of Youngstown OH, Ronald Emery of Ringoes NJ, her sister, Gladys Hanna of Newark DE, her sister-in-law, Joan Waldron Courser of West Halifax VT and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of Barbara’s life, officiated by Pastor Robert DiSalvio and under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020 on the grounds of the Amwell Church of the Brethren, 40 Sandbrook-Headquarters Road in Stockton NJ. All services will be held outdoors, including a viewing from 10:00am - 12:00pm and funeral service at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at the Lower Amwell Cemetery.
