<p>Violet &quot;Vi&quot; M. Walth entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Village in Grand Island, NE, at the age of 91.</p> <p>Violet was born on July 29, 1929 to Louis and Lydia (Dockter) Graf in Aberdeen, SD.&nbsp;</p> <p>In 1947, Vi graduated from high school in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and met Elton Walth (d. 2006) at a Lutheran youth gathering.&nbsp; Elton and Vi were united in marriage to on August 14, 1949 in Aberdeen.&nbsp; Following Elton&#39;s ordination to the ministry in the Lutheran church, Vi was a vital part of his ministry serving parishes in Donnelly, MN; Ramona, SD; Denver, CO; St. Paul, NE; and Geneva NE.&nbsp; Following their retirement to Grand Island in 1991, Elton and Vi became active members of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island.&nbsp; They also became a Clergy Presenting Couple for Lutheran Marriage Encounter and led LME weekends from Canada to Texas and California to New York, touching the lives of over 1600 couples between 1981 and 1999.</p> <p>Vi enjoyed participating in church social and educational events, as well as attending music and theater performances.&nbsp; She was known for her good country cooking and baking. She enjoyed gardening and canning.&nbsp; She also enjoyed embroidering.</p> <p>Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Kaira Adam of Beatrice, and Janet and Daryl Anderson of St. Paul; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Lorane Walth of Peoria, AZ; five grandsons and three grandsons&#39; wives, Derek and Paula Anderson, Drew and Sara Anderson, Benjamin Walth, Isaac Walth and Aaron and Laura Walth; and six great-grandchildren.</p> <p>Vi was preceded in death by her parents, Louis &amp; Lydia Graf; husband, Elton Walth; brothers, Ephriam, August and David Graf; sister, Emily Graf Wagner.</p> <p>Visitation will be held at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul from 5-7:30 P.M. on Friday, October 16, 2020 at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul.&nbsp; Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island.&nbsp; Pastor Bill Pavuk will be officiating.&nbsp; Masks and social distancing will be required.&nbsp; Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Aberdeen, SD.&nbsp;</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to: St. Croix Hospice Foundation at 2550 N. Diers Ave., Suite H, Grand Island, NE&nbsp; 68803 or Good Samaritan Society at GSS - Crane Meadows, &nbsp;4071 Timberline St., Grand Island, NE&nbsp; 68803.</p>

Violet "Vi" M. Walth entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Village in Grand Island, NE, at the age of 91.

Violet was born on July 29, 1929 to Louis and Lydia (Dockter) Graf in Aberdeen, SD. 

In 1947, Vi graduated from high school in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and met Elton Walth (d. 2006) at a Lutheran youth gathering.  Elton and Vi were united in marriage to on August 14, 1949 in Aberdeen.  Following Elton's ordination to the ministry in the Lutheran church, Vi was a vital part of his ministry serving parishes in Donnelly, MN; Ramona, SD; Denver, CO; St. Paul, NE; and Geneva NE.  Following their retirement to Grand Island in 1991, Elton and Vi became active members of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island.  They also became a Clergy Presenting Couple for Lutheran Marriage Encounter and led LME weekends from Canada to Texas and California to New York, touching the lives of over 1600 couples between 1981 and 1999.

Vi enjoyed participating in church social and educational events, as well as attending music and theater performances.  She was known for her good country cooking and baking. She enjoyed gardening and canning.  She also enjoyed embroidering.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Kaira Adam of Beatrice, and Janet and Daryl Anderson of St. Paul; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Lorane Walth of Peoria, AZ; five grandsons and three grandsons' wives, Derek and Paula Anderson, Drew and Sara Anderson, Benjamin Walth, Isaac Walth and Aaron and Laura Walth; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul from 5-7:30 P.M. on Friday, October 16, 2020 at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul.  Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island.  Pastor Bill Pavuk will be officiating.  Masks and social distancing will be required.  Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Aberdeen, SD.
