Vernon Garland Stork, 81, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020. He was born on February 10, 1939, to the late Gussie and Hazel Pauline Stork. Vernon loved being on the water, going fishing, gardening, playing darts with his team, and spending time with his family. He was a people person and would help anyone in need. He was a member of the American Legion Post 160 in Pascagoula, MS and the Moose Lodge in D’Iberville, MS. In addition to his parents, Vernon is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Stork, his brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Carolyn Stork, and his sister-in-law, Helen Stork. He is survived by his children, Kelvin Stork, Arlene (Mel) Johnson, Paula Stork, Lorie Stacey, Rita (Doug) Coon, and Timothy Stork; special friend, Nancy Collins; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great, great-grandchildren; brothers, James Stork and Terry (Judy) Stork; sister, Janice (Allen) Cronier; along with many other relatives and friends. A visitation for Vernon will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Ralph Smith officiating. Interment will immediately follow at W.R. Clark Cemetery in Forts Lake with Dennis Stacey, Josh Stork, John Stork, Jacob Stork, Chance Smith, and Ashley Johnson serving as pallbearers. J.T.
