<p>Helen Froese (nee Thiessen) age 68 years of Altona formerly of Reinland, Manitoba passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at the St. Boniface Hospital.</p> <p>Helen was born July 7, 1952 in Winkler Manitoba to David J. Thiessen and Sara Thiessen (nee Fehr). She spent her childhood years in Reinland alongside her 6 brothers and 2 sisters.</p> <p>Helen was baptized upon confession of her faith May 22nd, 1972 into the Reinland Sommerfeld Mennonite Church.</p> <p>Helen married Jake August 5, 1972 and they moved to Altona. Helen began writing for the Echo at the age of 17 and continued for many years after she and Jake were married. She also brought the H&R Block franchise to town. She began Altona video and ran it until failing health caused her to leave the business.</p> <p>Helen met many friends online with which she shared her love of crafting; mainly cards. Jake and Helen would sometimes travel to meet up with them.</p> <p>Helen will be greatly missed by her husband Jake, her siblings, family, and many friends.</p> <p>A private family funeral service will be held with burial at the Hochfeld Cemetery. Viewing will be at Wiebe Funeral Home Altona on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.</p> <p>Donations in memory of Helen may be made to Blue Sky Opportunities, or to the Rhineland and Area Food Bank.</p>Obituary
