George Edward Dorner Sheboygan, Wisconsin Obituary

George Edward Dorner

George E. Dorner, age 93, entered into Eternal Life on Monday, May 22, 2017 at St. Nicholas Hospital. He was born August 28, 1923 in Luxemburg, WI to the late Frances and Jacob Dorner. George attended school in Luxemburg, and later joined the Air Force. After his military service, he began his professional career as a home builder. He was a founding member of the Brown County Home Builder’s Association. After moving his family to Sheboygan in 1964, he worked for Ebenreiter Lumber Company as a designer and estimator until his retirement. On January 3, 1948, George married Geraldine VandenLangenberg. Together they celebrated 69 years of marriage and raised 4 children. He enjoyed many sports, especially golf (particularly his annual George Dorner family golf outing). Only one thing came before golf, and that was church. George liked to help his family and friends with building projects. George is survived by his wife, Geraldine; four children: Randy (Barb) Dorner, Debbi (Dick) Glaeser, Dawn (Bob) Bullard, and Mary Kay (Greg) Beyer; ten grandchildren: Michelle (Scott) Niemi, Matthew (Heidi) Dorner, Melissa (Ryan) Kraemer, Cory (Lilla) Glaeser, Ryan (Shanae) Glaeser, Luke Bullard, Aaron(Chelsea) Bullard, Alaina Beyer, Hayden Beyer and Harrison Beyer; nine great-grandchildren; 3 siblings: twin brother Jacob Dorner, Laura Hessel, and Marie (Don) Kassner; numerous nieces and nephews, and seven sisters and brothers-in-laws. George was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings. Family and friends may visit at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 807 Superior Ave, Sheboygan, on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 11 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. George will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. The family would like to thank Dr. Marsho, St. Nicholas Hospital, and the caregivers at Countryside Manor.
