Funeral services will be held Monday, October 5, 2020 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Lawrence Lee Cormier, 84, who passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Acadia General Hospital. Rev. Jimmy Broussard pastor of First Presbyterian Church will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Sunday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm and Monday from 8:00 am to the time of service at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Mr. Lawrence was born and resided in Crowley. He served our great country in the United States Navy. His career consisted of owning an auto mechanic shop and work for the Acadia Parish Landfill. He is survived by three children, Darren L. Cormier and his wife Mary of Crowley, Dwayne J. Cormier of Crowley, and Yevette Cormier of Crowley; seven grandchildren, Tracy, Tracey, Chris, Brittnie, Brady, Hannah, and April; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a daughter-in-law, Nell Cormier of Crowley. Mr. Cormier is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Aucoin Cormier; his parents, Isaac and Eva Kibodeaux Cormier; his sister, Velma Prejean; and an infant brother. The family would like to thank Dr. Dwight T. Curtis, Acadia General Hospital, and Renella and Adonia of Evangeline Home Health for their exceptional care given to our father.
