Private memorial service for Darlys Mae Bolduan, 79, Aberdeen will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Samuel Bobby officiating. The service will be live streamed through her obituary page on our website. Darlys died Thursday, October 1 at her home. Public visitation will be 3:00-7:00 pm, Tuesday at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 South Main Street. The family prefers memorials. Darlys Mae Bolduan was born on December 13, 1940 to Doretta Howe in Houghton, SD. Darlys lived in Houghton on the Howe family farm and graduated from Hecla High School. In 1961 she married Leroy Kessler. Of this union came three children. Kenneth, Wanda and Ricky. In 1968 Leroy passed away unexpectedly. In 1969 Darlys lost her daughter, Wanda in a car/ bicycle accident. In 1971 Darlys married Ronald Bolduan. Ron was a true blessing in her life. Ron adopted Kenneth and Ricky. In 1972 Ron and Darlys brought their daughter Karen into the world. Darlys lived in Aberdeen and was a banquet manger for a hotel chain and also worked as an Aide at Bethesda Nursing home. In addition she kept her home and family well taken care of. During her retirement years, she enjoyed working at different establishments which allowed her to meet so many new people. The family loved camping. Darlys and Ron enjoyed making campfire pizzas during camping trips and also after sporting events. Darlys always supported her kids and “adopted” kids in all their events. Darlys loved to bake. Treating all her family and friends. You could always find goodies in the freezer. She has passed on her baking skills to her daughter Karen. Darlys also enjoyed gardening, playing cards, word puzzles, reminiscing about funny past stories and family gatherings. Darlys was known for her Christmas Eve gatherings for family and friends at her home. It was a passion of hers to bring people together. Darlys was an avid Twins and Vikings fan. She loved to cheer them on. No matter what, she was a faithful fan. After retiring Darlys and Ron continued to live in Aberdeen, enjoying family and friends. Grateful for having shared Darlys’ life are her husband Ron, her sons, Kenneth and Ricky (Keri), daughter, Karen, sisters, Joelyn Walth, Lynnette (Brad ) Cotton, Sister in law, Barbara Bolduan, niece, Bobby (Cody) Pokett and several aunts and uncles. Darlys is proceeded in death by her mother, Doretta (Howe) Sombke, first husband, Leroy, daughter, Wanda, brother, Bobby Sombke, brother-in-law, Jim Walth and several aunts and uncles.
