Deceased Name: Marcus Lynn Aplin Date of Birth: Tuesday, October 14, 1947 Date of Death: Monday, September 28, 2020 Funeral services for Marcus Lynn Aplin, 72 of Harrisonburg, LA will be held at Harrisonburg First Baptist Church on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 12 noon with Dr. Philip Caples officiating. Interment will follow at Harrisonburg Cemetery, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home - Jonesville. Marcus Lynn Aplin was born on Tuesday, October 14, 1947 in Harrisonburg, LA to the union of his parents Marvin and Grace Aplin and passed away Monday, September 28, 2020 at his residence. He was a resident of Harrisonburg and a member of Harrisonburg First Baptist Church. Marcus retired from Block High School with 33 years of teaching. He proudly served his Country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He is preceded in death by his parents- Marvin and Grace Sanson Aplin and his in-laws- Lister and Doris Alexander. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Janis Alexander Aplin of Harrisonburg, sister Mary Aplin Mobley and her husband Alan of Pineville, Niece Melissa Mobley Molina and her husband Marco of Pineville, nephew Brian Mobley and his wife Katie of Pineville, sister-in-law Martha Alexander Bryan and her husband Kenny of Whitehall, niece Jenny Francis Parker and her husband Jamie of Jena, great nieces Grace and Emily Molina of Pineville, and great niece Cydney Parker of Jena. Pallbearers will be Joe Sanson, Michael Russell, David Mitchell, John Wayne Allbritton, Greg Terry, Kerry Kirby, Brian Mobley, and Marco Molina. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be sent to the Harrisonburg Baptist Church mission fund.
