<p>Lowell G. Moore, 93, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:20 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2020, at the home of his son in Nabb, IN.</p> <p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2020, at St. Mary&rsquo;s Catholic Church. Rev. Jerry Byrd will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary&rsquo;s Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 &ndash; 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2020 with the Rosary Service being conducted at 3:30 p.m. at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Masks and Social Distancing are required.</p> <p>Born on September 29, 1926, in Peebles, OH, Lowell was the son of Glenn and Anna Mae (Gorman) Moore. He was united in marriage to Edna Fiely on June 12, 1948. She preceded him in death on March 3, 1986.</p> <p>Lowell served his country in the Navy during WWII. Later he went to work for Reliance Electric where he retired from. Lowell was a faithful member of St. Mary&rsquo;s Catholic Church. Lowell was devoted to God and his family. He was a virtuous man who revered the blessings that each day brought and always lived in the presence of the here and now. &nbsp;Living simply, he gave generously to his community, St. Vincent DePaul and to anyone he thought was in need.&nbsp; His legacy of humility and kindness will be forever woven in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have ever met him.&nbsp; &nbsp;Many generations to come will know of him as the family&rsquo;s hero and hear of his mushroom hunting adventures and his secret for living to 94 years old is a daily dose of Big Red and homemade ice cream.&nbsp;</p> <p>He is survived by daughters, Karen Jines of New Whiteland, and Lisa Low of North Vernon; sons, Tim (Jana) Moore of North Vernon, Mike (Sheila) Moore of North Vernon, and Kevin (Linda) Moore of Nabb; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren. Michelle (Derek) Hall, Olivia, Chloe, Lexi; Michael (Heather) Jines, Caroline, Austin: Craig (Stephanie) Moore, Anna, Rachel, Nicole, Katie; Erica (Miah) Gootee, Aubrey; Jeff (Vanette)Moore, Elizabeth, Rebekah, Sarah; Shawn (Paula) Moore, Cameron, Jadelyn; Kristi (Jason) Ashcraft, Claire, Madi; LeAnn (David) Mull, Jacob, Isaac, Hanna; Greg (Jamie) Low, Emerson, Kaela (Alex) Shepherd, Rilynn; Dakota Moore, and Zach Moore.</p> <p>Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Anna Mae Moore; wife, Edna Moore; two brothers; two sisters.</p> <p>Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St. Vincent De Paul or Amedisys Hospice Patient&rsquo;s Special Need Fund.</p>

Lowell G. Moore, 93, of North Vernon, passed away at 7:20 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2020, at the home of his son in Nabb, IN.

Born on September 29, 1926, in Peebles, OH, Lowell was the son of Glenn and Anna Mae (Gorman) Moore. He was united in marriage to Edna Fiely on June 12, 1948. She preceded him in death on March 3, 1986.

Lowell served his country in the Navy during WWII. Later he went to work for Reliance Electric where he retired from. Lowell was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Lowell was devoted to God and his family. He was a virtuous man who revered the blessings that each day brought and always lived in the presence of the here and now.  Living simply, he gave generously to his community, St. Vincent DePaul and to anyone he thought was in need.  His legacy of humility and kindness will be forever woven in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have ever met him.   Many generations to come will know of him as the family’s hero and hear of his mushroom hunting adventures and his secret for living to 94 years old is a daily dose of Big Red and homemade ice cream.
