Thelma L. Boggess

Thelma L. Boggess 82 of Southside, Mason County, passed away May 22, 2017 at Sweetbrier Assisted Living Facility after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She could always be counted on to provide care or assistance in a time of need. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell R. Boggess, Sr., son, Ronnie Boggess, brothers, Jimmie, Delmar, Gene and Sammy Bays, infant sister, Shelby Bays. Survivors include her children, Darrell R. Boggess, Jr., and wife Deborah of Southside, Debbie Chapman and husband Chuck of Charleston, brothers, Ray and David Bays, sisters, Martha Gresham and Trill Leftwich, grandchildren, Chris, Eric, Chasity, Sarah, Kristin, Kristi, Roxanne and Faith. Four great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Sweetbrier and Kanawha Hospice for their excellent care. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Friday May 26, 2017 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor DaVontae Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services also on Friday. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W.
