Kevin “Mike” Thayer, 65 of 200 Nichol St. S. Paris was called home by God on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at his home surrounded by the love of his wife and children. He was born March 9, 1955 in Ware, MA the son of Laurence, Sr. and Theresa (Brunelle) Thayer. He made his childhood home in the fields of North Brookfield MA. After high school graduation he began his career in the United States Navy, where he served 20 years distinguished. Mike married his high school sweetheart Lynette Abraham on May 24, 1975. They then started what is lovingly called “The Thayer Adventure”. Mike’s love of life and spirit for adventure lead them to travel all over the world. He is survived by his wife Lynette; and four children (who were born in the four corners of the United States) Calobe Thayer and his wife Lissa of Bridgton, ME, Shannon Thayer and husband Forrest Keating of Truckee, CA, Travis Thayer and his wife Kristin of Crawfordsville IN., Brady Thayer and his wife Michele of Elko, NV; 10 grandchildren Gavin, Dexter, Theresa, Liam, Anna, Kira, Jantzen, Landen, Mallory, and Marshal . All who are carrying on the love of “ The Thayer Adventures”. He is also survived by five siblings Laurence “Butchie” Thayer, Jr, Anna and her husband James Cullen, Barbara and her husband Wayne Kennett, Deborah and her husband Douglas Morrison, Mary and her husband Mark Plankey. Also, Mother-in-law Phyllis Abraham, James Abraham and wife Scheli, Chad Abraham and wife Heather….and many, many nieces and nephews. We will continue to celebrate the life of our Husband, Daddy-O, Pops, and Papaw. He will be greatly missed by family and the friends he made everywhere he went across the United States. We thank him for the gifts of selflessness, unconditional love, pure joy and laughter that he has showed us over and over again. A memorial service will be held 2pm Friday outside at his residence at 200 Nichol Street, South Paris. Arrangements are with Chandler Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, South Paris.
