Robert “Roberto” Nira, 87, of Johnstown, passed away on September 27, 2020 in Loveland, Colorado. He was born to Armundo and Francisca (Rodriguez) Nira on August 30, 1933 in San Marcos, Texas. Roberto served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, and watching the Colorado Rockies. He loved going to the dog track and the casino whenever he could. Above all, he loved and adored his family. Roberto is survived by his wife, Connie Martinez; Children, Martha Gonzalez, Francisca Nira, Stella (Felipe) Vigil, Olivia (Pete) Rangel, Robert Nira Jr. and Sandy (Eric) Podtburg; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Rita (Haro) Nira: siblings, Ruben Nira and Rogelio Nira and by his daughter, Shannon Wilson. Life Celebration service will be held at 11 am, with Rosary starting at 10:30, both will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Our Lady of Peace Church, 1311 3rd Street in Greeley.
