Gerald William Fairley

Gerald William Fairley, McGivney, NB passed away peacefully on September 27, 2020 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Gerald was born on April 12, 1947. Besides his wife and best friend, Geraldine Rogers Reilly Fairley, Gerald is survived by step-daughters: Wendy Hewitt (Jeff) and Nanette Walker (Charles) and their children Lucas, Landon, Braedon, Mariah, and Bethany; as well as his sister, Rosine Watson and brother, Cecil Fairley. He will also be missed by sister in laws Doreen (Dale) Giberson, Barb (Gary) Clark, and Wanda (Gaylon) Giggie. Gerald was predeceased by his parents, Lorne and Jean Fairley, brother Gary Fairley, Sister Dora Mae Timms, and two infant siblings. Gerald loved spending time fixing things, inventing new things, going to church activities, four wheeling, and enjoying fishing/hunting in the outdoors. With health issues, it had been a long and difficult journey but we can smile in peace knowing that Gerald lives now without discomfort or limitations in a glorious place that has been prepared for him by his Lord and Saviour. A private internment service at the Bristol Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery will be held at a later date. The family wish to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at the DECH and Eden’s Retirement Villa, as well as two special friends, Lynn Price and Pastor Pat McAloon. Donations in memory of Gerald may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are in the compassionate care of Chipman Funeral Home & Crematorium (339-6612). Memories and condolences may be shared through www.chipmanfuneralhome.ca
