Roger Lee Bolyard

<p>Roger Lee Bolyard, 73 of Scotch Hill Road, Thornton passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born August 31, 1947 in Philippi, son of the late Howard Wesley and Wilma Etta Rutherford Bolyard. Roger graduated from Fellowsville High School, Class of 1965. He received an Associate Degree from Fairmont State College. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Roger retired from the Laborers Local Union #379 with over thirty-five years of service. After retirement from Union, he was owner of Sandridge Trucking LLC. His hobbies were, fishing, hunting, camping, horseback riding, gardening, being a carpenter and building lots of things and coaching sports. Roger is survived by his wife of forty eight years, Carole Lynn Campbell Bolyard; four children, Tonda Davis and Scott, Arthurdale, Allen Collins and Kelly, Morgantown, Eric Bolyard and fianc&eacute;, Roberta Swaney, Arthurdale, Chris Bolyard and Wendy, Kingwood; ten grandchildren, Brandon McDonald Bolyard and Sammi Kay, Clayton Collins and Jenna, Austin Cutright, Sydney Davis, Jacob Collins, Samantha Davis, Chase Cutright, Malesa Taylor, Sierra Davis, Aliya Bolyard;&nbsp; two brothers, Leslie Bolyard, Independence, Colin Bolyard and Linda, Tunnelton, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by one brother, Emerson Bolyard and sister-in-law, Blinda Kay Bolyard, one sister, Eris Bolyard and brother-in-law, Dorsie Emmit Bolyard. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 2-7 PM with proper distancing and face mask required, and Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 9AM until time of service at Noon with Pastor David Freeman officiating.
