Charlotte Anne Miller was born October 1, 1938, in Springfield, Ohio, to Charles Hunter and Mary Ellen (Overholser) Karns. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1956. Charlotte moved to California for work and settled in the Sacramento area and raised two daughters. She worked as an administrative professional for the University of Phoenix for 15 years. In 1984, one of Charlotte’s friends introduced her to a friend of theirs from Los Angeles, Harry Miller. The pair hit it off and began dating, spending time together in either Sacramento or Los Angeles. When Harry had an opportunity to take a job in Saudi Arabia, he decided that he should propose to her so they could marry before he left.      Charlotte and Harry were married October 27, 1984, in Reno, Nevada. Shortly after, Harry moved over seas and would wait more than three months for Charlotte to join him. Charlotte assimilated the Saudi culture quickly and effortlessly and spent most of the next ten years there. When it was time to move back to the United States, Charlotte and Harry chose Phoenix, Arizona, as their home and built a beautiful house on a golf course where they would enjoy the next 20 years together.      Travel was a huge part of Charlotte and Harry’s life together and they were blessed to experience grand adventures together all over the world. Charlotte especially loved Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. After they moved to Arizona they travelled often through Utah, Nevada, and Arizona, enjoying the incredibly beautiful scenery.      Charlotte was a lover of nature, not only during her travels but at home as well. She enjoyed being in their yard and gardening and cultivated an incredible flower garden. Fishing was something that she thoroughly enjoyed and never seemed happier than when she had a pole in her hand. Charlotte also loved butterflies, and once, while she was at Lake of the Ozarks, she took a stunning photo of a butterfly, entitled “Ozark Beauty”, that was published in Parade Magazine. Photography was just one of the many outlets of her creativity. She enjoyed all kinds of crafting, including crocheting and needlework. Music was another passion of Charlotte’s from the time she was young, singing on a Saturday morning TV show in Ohio. She loved all the older music and would sing and dance along to her favorite songs.      As Charlotte’s health declined, Harry decided to move her up to Oregon to be closer to her daughter and family. The couple settled in Salem, Oregon, area where they would spend the rest of their days together. In the fall of 2019, Charlotte was moved to Open Arms Adult Care in Stayton, Oregon, where she was lovingly well-cared for. On September 26, 2020, Charlotte passed-away at Open Arms in Stayton. She will be remembered as a friendly woman who was kind to everyone and never had a bad word to say about anyone.      Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of almost 38 years, Harry Miller; her daughters Heidi Helm and Shelly Lofgren; grandchildren Megan Miller, Rachel Western, and Chelsea Helm; and great-grandchildren Jonah Miller and Clara Miller.
