Neal Dean Fangmann, 91, of Oak Grove, MO passed away Friday, September 25, 2020 at the home. The funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 613 S Main St, Independence, MO 64050. Interment with full military honors will follow at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery Higginsville, MO. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time Wednesday at the church Neal was born November 14, 1928 in Sylvan Grove, KS to Rudolph and Amalia (Haesemeyer) Fangmann and had one sister, Madonna Lou Thomas. He was married to May Eckhoff (his beloved for 61 years) in July of 1951 in Sweet Springs, MO and together they raised 4 sons. Neal retired after 33 years from the General Motors Leeds Plant. He has been a faithful member of Messiah Lutheran Church for 62 years. He took comfort in knowing that he was a baptized child of God. God and family were important to him all his days. He enjoyed camping with friends, playing cards and watching the Royals and Chiefs. Neal is survived by; 4 sons, Glen (Beverly) of Oak Grove, MO; Dennis (Kathy) of New Harmony, Utah; Gary (Shelly) of Cleveland, GA; Bruce (Becky) of Oak Grove, MO; 11 grandchildren, Jeremy Fangmann (Ashley) of Columbia, MO; Kristin Liles (Chris) of Mayview, MO; Nathan Fangmann (Maggie) of Lake Point, UT; Jacob Fangmann (Kelli) of Fort Bragg, NC; Molly Capistrant (Ty) of Atlanta, GA; Haley McDonald (CJ) of Cleveland, GA; Levi Fangmann (Holly) of Cleveland, GA; Joel Fangmann (Jensen) of Cleveland, GA; Mark Fangmann (Taylor) of Independence, MO; Bryce Fangmann (Danielle) of Independence, MO; Ryan Fangmann of Oak Grove, MO; 15 great grandchildren, Hallie and Harrison Fangmann of Columbia, MO; Connor Liles of Mayview, MO;, Danny, Benji and Peter Fangmann of Lake Point, UT; Taylor, Isabella and Averie Fangmann of Fort Bragg, NC; Micah, Alice and Aiden Capistrant of Atlanta, GA; Teddy McDonald of Cleveland, GA,; Ivy and Lily Fangmann of Cleveland, GA.
